| Abstract | Geothermometry of hot springs in Hot Springs Bay Valley on Akutan Island indicate a common reservoir temperature of 160-190°C. Geophysical exploration of the valley has revealed a probably le hot water reservoir 1.4 km x 0.5 km in area, 40-75 m thick and capped by 40-70 m of impermeable volcanic debris flows. Resistivity of the reservoir rock ranges from 2.2-12 m. High seismic velocity and high resistivity of the basement rock may be due to mineral cementation. |
