The National Aeronautics and Space Administration is placing great agency wide emphasis on reducing energy consumption, while simultaneously promoting alternate or renewable energy sources. While significant energy savings have been achieved, the agency remains strongly committed to achieving further reduction goals. Preliminary geophysical indications have identified the Wallops Flight Center, a major NASA installation, as being situated over potentially significant geothermal energy resources. The objective of this conceptual assessment has been to evaluate the potential geothermal integration and use in terms of WFC facilities and equipment. |
