| Abstract | A major geothermal energy development scenario is about to begin in Imperial County. Initial energy socioeconomic interactions in the areas of population and county leadership structure are discussed. These include immigration of energy company workers, a sewage plant dispute, conflict over union affiliation of geothermal laborers, and a transmission corridor routing dispute. |
