| Abstract | An industrial plant may decide to convert to geothermal energy if it is already co-located with geothermal energy of adequate quality and quantity. For a company to decide to open a plant at a new site to relocated an existing plant at a site where geothermal energy can be used is a much more complex decision. By identifying the essential locational criteria for prospective geothermal user, those industries with the highest realistic potential for geothermal use can be targeting for marketing. Only when the essential business requirements of an industrial user are met will he retrofit, relocate or expand to use geothermal energy in his industrial facility. |
