| Abstract | All available data on proppants and fluids were examined to determine areas in technology that need development for 300 to 500°F (150°C to 265°C) hydrothermal wells. While fluid properties have been examined well into the 450°F range, proppants have not been previously tested at elevated temperatures except in a few instances. This paper presents the latest test data at geothermal temperatures and show some possible proppants and fluid systems that can be used. Also discussed are alternative stimulation techniques for geothermal wells. |
