| Abstract | Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) and Union Geothermal Company of New Mexico (Union) have recently executed a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Pursuant to this Cooperative Agreement, PNM and Union are to act collectively as Participant and are to perform the Geothermal Demonstration Power Plant Project (Project) with scheduled commencement of commercial generation of the Project on or before march 1, 1982. Union will drill the required wells and will construct and operate the pipelines, separators and other surface facilities required to supply clean dry steam to the generating plat. The generating pant will be constructed and operated by PNM. PNM will also construct the transmission facilities required to connect the plant to the Company's existing transmission network. The data from the Project will be disseminated throughout the industry. All technical data from the Project will be available for dissemination without restriction. This type of dissemination would not normally occur were the Project strictly a commercial venture based solely on private funding. |
