Abstract The recovery of heat resources is the primary purpose of geothermal development. The production of primary reservoir fluids however, may recover only a very small percentage of reservoir heat. The adoption of effective enhanced recovery methods will be necessary if efficient use is to be made of existing geothermal resources. This summary paper outlines the reservoir engineering aspects of both primary fluid recovery and enhanced recovery methods.
