| Abstract | Solid deposition in geothermal reinjection brines, the primary mechanism of which is the aggregation of silica particles, has been investigated in the laboratory at the Kakkonda geothermal power plant. Experiments show that fluid temperature does not influence silica particle aggregation, while sulfuric acid dosing affects particle dispersion, as well as silica polymerization rates. These results will contribute to improve energy utilization in geothermal power plants. |
