| Abstract | Policymakers and legislators are being encouraged to create and pass policy legislation that supports the specific needs of the geothermal industry. This position has been introduced in research literature in recent years, but there remains a question of what would best serve the geothermal industry. By providing findings from an extensive literature review on the subject, this paper will provide an identification of common barriers to geothermal development. It will also provide a discussion of the gap in contemporary policy applications that supports the need for more geothermal specific incentives when compared with developmental barriers. |
