| Abstract | The San Jacinto-Tizate project in Nicaragua is being constructed and anticipates having its first unit in commercial operation in the first quarter of 2005. The original development plan for the project was structured to avoid the need for commercial debt finance during the initial phase in order to demonstrate the technical and commercial viability of the project and thus enhance the attractiveness for subsequent suppliers of project finance. A number of changes have occurred to the financing plan, which include the possibility of commercial equity financing, and these will be described in the paper. Additional developments will be reported at the WGC conference. |
