Aquifer fluid compositions were assessed from analytical data on water samples collected at the wellhead from wells in Oradea-Felix-1 Mai geothermal area. A lot of studies indicated that geothermal water compositions are controlled by a close approach to mineral-solution equilibria with respect to various elements. The aquifer temperatures range from 35oC to 115oC. The state of mineral saturation of the aquifer water with respect to anhydrite, calcite, chalcedony, chrysotile, goethite, magnetite, amorphous sillica, quartz, wollastonite was studied. Simulation programs were used to assess the deep fluid temperature and the average and the mean departure from saturation. Chemical compositions confirm the corrosion and scale potential of these waters at measured temperature and some of them at temperatures reached during utilization. This study proposes also an innovative methodology to use the natural clay from a geothermal area to remove heavy metals from wastewaters. It was found out that this clay may be a natural adsorbent. By the use of factorial experiment method there were optimized the parameters involved in adsorbent process in order to minimize the costs. |
